Fulton County Development Strategy:
A Vision for the Future

Housing
The strategy recognizes the importance of providing a variety of housing options to meet the needs of all residents, from young professionals to growing families to seniors. The plan includes initiatives to encourage the construction of new housing, the rehabilitation of existing housing stock, and the development of mixed-use communities that offer a variety of housing types and price points.

Tourism
Fulton County is home to a wealth of natural beauty and recreational opportunities, and the strategy seeks to leverage these assets to attract more visitors and boost the local tourism industry. The plan includes initiatives to improve infrastructure, develop new attractions, and enhance the visitor experience.

Economic Development
The strategy aims to create a business-friendly environment that attracts new investment and creates jobs. The plan includes initiatives to develop shovel-ready sites, provide financial incentives to businesses, and support the growth of existing industries.
The FCIDA's Role
The FCIDA will play a key role in implementing the Development Strategy. Some of the projects the FCIDA will be involved in include:

Tryon Technology Park:
A 515-acre property with around 240 acres of shovel-ready sites between Exits 27 and 28 of I-90. The FCIDA will oversee the demolition of remaining buildings and advance a new distribution-level substation/115kV sub-transmission main along County Route 107 to support the development readiness of the park. This will enhance the park’s attractiveness to advanced manufacturing and semiconductor supply chain companies.
Tryon Development Area:
A 45+/- acre tract site with stunning vistas and all major utilities already available. The FCIDA will extend infrastructure from Tryon Technology Park to the Tryon Development Area to incentivize and attract housing developers to the site.

Vireo Health:
A cannabis cultivation, processing, and manufacturing facility located at Tryon Technology Park. The FCIDA will continue to support Vireo Health’s expansion at Tryon Technology Park.
Housing Hub Initiative:
Focuses on ensuring that the workforce has access to homes, supporting a thriving and stable community for businesses to flourish. The FCIDA will work with the Fulton County Center for Regional Growth (FCCRG) to create and promote a “Round-About Housing Hub” near NYS Route 30A/South Kingsboro Ave./Harrison Street Triangle
