The Fulton County Industrial Development Agency (FCIDA) recently conducted a public meeting to gather feedback on a draft Brownfields Cleanup Grant application submitted to the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). The grant aims to clean up two buildings located in the Tryon Technology Park in Johnstown, New York.
The draft grant application and Analysis of Brownfields Cleanup Alternatives (ABCA) were made available to the public prior to the meeting. Attendees had the opportunity to review the documents and provide comments on the proposed cleanup activities.
The meeting was held virtually via Zoom, allowing for convenient participation from community members. Those unable to attend in person could also submit written comments by email or mail.
The FCIDA will use the public input gathered during the meeting to refine the grant application before submitting it to the EPA. If approved, the grant will fund the cleanup of the contaminated buildings, paving the way for future development and economic growth in the Tryon Technology Park.
